Hi there,does anyone know if a defender front axle will fit a disco 1.My sons disco has either broken a halfshaft or screwed up the diff and i have been offered a defender axle to swap over while i get the disco axle repaired,any advice would be welcome,cheers.

Surely doing a diff or half shaft swap would be far quicker....than undoing arms, rods, brake lines etc :doh:

what age of defender axle,what age disco?

This is not my first post ,i couldn't logon under my previous name for some reason so rejoined under a new name.
Back to the problem ,i have never had to deal with broken halfshafts before and thought there could be problems removing the diff if part of the half shaft was still located in the diff.An axel swap seem'd like a quick solution as my son needs the vehicle for work.

The Defender is a 92/93 and the Disco is a 94.

200tdi defender then,axle wont fit without changing radius arms too, ali wheels wont fit def axle,

Thanks for the reply ,I'll try and draw the half shafts and see if i can remove the diff to check what damage has been done
