Hey guys hopefully the answer is yes

Ive got a 1.8lt manual 1999 freelander with a stuffed IRD

Ive managed to find a replacement one at a acceptable price, but its from a 2001 V6 2.5lt

will this bolt straight up and drive fine?

Im sure i will be corrected if im wrong but it wont fit,the v6 ones are different. If yours it faulty then try removing it for now and going 2wd as i have just done!then got time to find the right one, hope this helps

I think it is only the gearing thats different,if it was really cheap stick it in, as its a 1.8 might even drive better!

I called a couple of workshops and they both said that it would bolt in no problems. They said the water pipes are different but you can just modify them or not use them at all. They had also heard the gearing was different but they had installed themselves and not seen any issues with driveability.

Ive ordered it and ill post the results when I get it in.
