Two weeks ago I fitted a Snorkel to my 110.
After much contemplation I decided to get the Paddock el cheepo.
I took the wife out this afternoon in it and she looked in astonishment , then asked " what is the chimney for"
The snorkel fitted a treat. I had to seal around the airfilter, now if I cover the top of the snorkel the engine dies.
I'm not sure yet but I think I have lost a few mpg and just a little performance at the top end. My 200tdi seems a little slower after 70mph to 80mph.

What was the chimney for then?

Loads, when I phoned Paddock to get some info about axle breathers and snorkels they seemed surprised I was actually going to use it in the water

Couple years ago (when I longed for a landy and couldn't have one) I was with a friend and saw one with a snorkel fitted. I pointed it out .. 'Look, I want one like that! It's got a snorkel on so it'll go through deep water!' Needless to say they didn't believe me and I got teased and teased about it for ages. One day I will get one fitted to mine and go round to tease them .. hope they remember about it!!!

Some how a Defender needs a Snorkel to complete the look.

Not that this includes the 'stove' pipe look which does look a bit home made badly.

As an aside when did Snorkel change the look of their product - the smooth finish version that must be a good 150mm taller than their original and bigger all round?
