Hi All,
I have noticed that when I am free wheeling/coasting down a hill there is a clicking noise coming from somewhere underneath but goes away as soon as I put on the gas. any idea will be appreciated. I have braced myself for the barrage of idiot answers.:car:

Cheers

Do not free wheel/coast down a hill. it is dangerous and illegal.

Sorry should have been a bit clearer not free heeling in the sense of in neutral but just taking foot off the gas and letting it drive its self down if that makes sense. Thank Mad hat man for your quick reply:bolt:

Its possibly a click that gets too fast to hear when you accelerate ...rust on the brake disc shield catching the disc maybe.

Had similar noise and it turned out to be the O/S/F brake back plate had rusted away and was free floating on the hub, fixed that by pulling it off. Unfortunately now getting rubbing noise from the O/S/R drum when braking, stripped down but found no visible defect but noise goes after pulling hard on handbrake whilst car is moving, suspect handbrake mechanism inside the drum is rubbing on hub, will check when sun goes in :)
