And sometimes it's just the driver!! or the first vehicle will get thru, but cut up the surface and make it harder for everyone following to make any headway.

I've seen at first hand the Kumho's off road, in my experience they are totally useless, the tread just clogs up and ends up being a sticky doughnut. BFG Muds far better.

Ohhhh!!

Well im gunna totally disagree with you Spydee!

I have just replaced my BFG Muds with Kumho Ventures. I have gone a lot wider with the Kumho's but they are a far better at releasing mud than the BFG.

If you have BFG muds and you have never got bogged down with them, then you aint trying hard enough!!

As I said I don't have either. XCL's work best for me. They were good enough for the Camel Trophy.
Each to their own I suppose.

Ah reckon all this so&so tyres are better than so&so is so much clap trap. Even all the debate about the best width has two sides to it.

If your tyres have some chunky tread on them & are big enuff to keep your diffs from grounding out, almost all the rest is down to driver skill. Knowing what your tyres & vehicle are capable of & correct approach/gear/speed etc is far more important than anything else. ;)
