Evening all
Just thought I would post this as wanted to find out what everyone else thought? A few months ago I wanted a supercharger grill on one of my P38s, opps what a mistake, if it aint broke dont fix it so to speak & P38s are beautiful as they are & I now have 4 of them! P38s that is, not grills! But why oh why do people insist on sticking L322 bits n pieces & usually badly on P38s? It looks bloody terrible, so why on earth do it? Why ruin a beautiful looking vehicle? Loads of them on ebay reaching stupid money for an abused P38s! Does anyone else feel like this?

I agree that L322 bits don't look right on a P38. Out if proportion !

Each to their own though, everyone has their own taste.

I once made a Cosworth Sierra out of a 1949 Ford Pop, what a job that was. :D:D:D

WOW..... Ultimate kudos for the purists, yet nappo.

Come on guys you're slipping.

To chip in with my two penneth worth though, speaking purely for myself.... I happen to like the look of 3 things from the L322;

1: The headlights
2: The side vents at the back of the front wings
3: The front bumper

I actually prefer the look of the headlights on the L322 over the Sport headlights, and while on the subject of which, i've yet to see anybody on here bitching and complaining about L322 owners getting a 2010 Sport facelift.... i wonder why that is?????

Moving on, the wing vents give the car a certain something from the side view... can't put my finger on it, but i just like the way it looks.

Then there's the front bumper... spotlights mounted at the front.

Can't say i'm a fan of the rear lights, as the surrounds are all grey and i think they should be colour coded, but that's just me.

At least i'm not one of these chuff monkeys who spends 2 grand buying a P38 and then throws another 4 or 5 grand at it having one of those black and white revamp jobs done cos they truly are messed up... wider at the sides, boxier at the front and back and all of it in warp ready plastic.

When L322s were new I could sort of understand it. You're basically making an old P38 look like a 70k motor (well to the general public anyway, anyone with a remote interest in cars will see right through the 'disguise'). However I really don't understand why anyone would do it these days. For the cost of buying a decent P38 and doing a good conversion you can buy an early L322.

there isn't a good p38/l322 conversion & there isn't a good cheap l322

The vast majority of people know bugger-all about cars - even people who think they know about cars - I often get people saying I drive a "posh" car even though it is by-far the cheapest car I've owned for about 15 years!

I was given a supercharger grill with mine when i bought it. I put it on to see how it looked....which was just wrong. The curve at the top didn't match the bonnet & just looked out of context.
Personally i prefer to keep mine as original as possible (with the exception of the side steps - the OEM steps are crap).

Why....see no real point it it, back to black the front grille.......only thing you should do...looks just fine
