If it was me... I would be waiting till' Winter to sell it. Almost definitly get a better price

Oh and include "90" in the Title next time

my advice is classified with best offer, you get 10 possible enquires and it is cheap=no agro ebay

I sold my motorbike on eBay earlier this year - the winning bidder rang me up the day he was supposed to collect it to tell me he can't afford it! WTF is wrong with people???

I think a classified ad is the way to go. I bought my Landy through eBay classifieds - we haggled a little over the price, but he (presumably) got what he wanted for it and I paid what I wanted. eBay auctions vary wildly - sometimes you get lucky as a seller, sometimes you get lucky as a buyer - it's a lottery.

Sorry to hear you got ****ed about - there really are some dickheads in this world...

Ian.

I have too say WLM I saw it and thought stoopid Twaat what's he wanna sell a lovely landy like that for? And then when ya said yu was gonna buy a RRC and bobtail it, I wondered about ya mental state :( Keep the 90 and have some fun in it. bobtail won't go anywhere the 90 won't go.

could swop it with Muddy Gonzo's bobtailed RRC, believe he would like a 90

Its mad but People just wont pay much money for motors these days. Sorry to hear about your bad luck WLM. I think your mate will struggle to get 3.5K TBH.

Bobtail will be worth about £1500 max when finished aswell dispite costing Thousands to do nicley. A couple of years ago that spec would have got serious money on a 90 nowdays everyone is skint and or don't want to spend

I feel your pain, WLM. It seems to be that everone on ebay is just there to **** people off, knowing that there is no comeback for the ****ty time they give the sellers. A word of warning though, I put my GSXR on Autotrader a couple of weeks ago, and all I got were scam e-mails. Ended up selling to a dealer for less than I wanted, just to avoid the fuss.

bastard! i wish their was a way of getting rid of the tossers on ebay who bid with no intention of actually buying the thing, that guy must have known full well what he was doing when he made the bid, what a ****

A secomnd offe3r would play into their hands-classified advert stops all that ****

you pretty much have the ultimate off roader there so why dont you keep it

really theres no point sellin it at such a loss only to go make something exactly the same (but not quite as cool if you ask me)

Go buy yourself something a bit more drivable like a rotten series 2 or 3, go for a complete strip down nd make it original, no big tires or anything just original, maybe thats not your thing but id love to have a soft top series for the sunny weather!

in a few months when your done with the series you could even sell it (probably at a profit if you keep away from the toys!!) and you might find a new found enthusiasm for the fender!

And hopefully when you decide to sell it again i'll have the mone to buy it then!:D:D:D:p

From my own experience with my 1994 90 it needed some work doing on it, body cappings, seat refurb etc and at that point if I sold it I would have made a few hundred quid. I spent another 1k on it, wheels, tyres, snorkel, wading kit, A bar, lamps and more. I hoped for at least 5k to get my money back and got 4.2k.... so all the extra spend was for a loss. The only good news was I got my 1997 110 for less than 5k. (ebay)
If I was thinking of doing another project I would keep it as original as possible... no fancy stuff as it adds little value. I find ebay is good for buyers.... ****e for sellers.
If you can.... keep hold for now or give auto trader a go. I would report that tw*t who forgot he had bid... make him eat ****... you will feel a bit better then :)
You could take it up to the LRO show at the weekend with a fooking big sign and a mobile number... have a day out and the phone may ring.

I had yours on watch!
I almost put a bid on and everything!

I would just keep it man, altough it looks good and has loads of extra, people wont pay a lot of money for it, basically because everyone is looking for something a bit more battered and that they wont worry if they crash it into a tree.....

I would keep it..but if you are not going to keep it, let me know and I might have some bits off yours...maybe even take yours back to standard and use bits off mine and swap, etc?

£4.5k is stoopid money i was expecting a lot more

Harsh reality is that most poeple who want a 90 like yours will be just as able as you and (want to) do just what you did. i.e. buy a cheaper one then over time spend £ks on it.

That said, as they say "it only takes one" so a classified add at a higher price is well worth a punt.

You've clearly enjoyed doing all you have achieved and the result is awsome...money can't buy that.

so the highest bidder on me 90 says he looked at another one today and has put a deposit on that one and forgot he had bid on mine..

so dunno what to do now..do i put it straight back on for buy it now..

do i pull some of the bits of and put it back on

or keep it..

£4.5k is stoopid money i was expecting a lot more

I would give you your £4500 if you sold it to me with the front and rear winch ropes and aluminium hawses?:D

So WLM what's the plan now? Are ye still selling her or are you going to keep her for a while?

have been beating myself up over this all weekend, and i just cant let it go for £4.5k the time and effort and new parts ive put into it is over the £8k mark..every one i know says keep it..

so i think i am gonna have to keep it and just use it as i did b4 the refurb and respray and not worry about scratching/denting it..

unless someone wants to offer me £5k.
