But it can be good to just have a good day out with mates and enjoy the view... Chippy run is an ideal example...

I'm just thinking I have most of the standard bits I took off or they are easy to come by, sell all my bits sell the 90 as standard and with the money I think I may get for all te parts and 90 add a little more and buy aa challenge truck that's 100% ready and build with hs drive shafts ect.
As for off roading I know it gives them a beating but I know 2 guys with challenge truck they bought and have never realy had anything go wrong,
I built a track car spent way to much money on it but built it right, i drove it hard on the road and track, 3 years after I built it I sold it and all I had done to it after was new brake pads a discs pads and fluids. 2 years on I know the car is still racing in the trackday trophy.

but selling one at the right price isJack it and start again. If i gets too much it aint worth doing. Thats why mine went. It only a car. Getting another isnt difficult.
but selling one at the right price is
or better to have a go at a pay n play first to get to grips with yr motor and not look like a numpty in front of the bigger boys at a comp..And destroy you motor so it spends more time off the road than on!! and I don't mean offroad play day i mean being fixed. P&P isnt great either to test your skills. Better to enter a comp imo
As Pressbrake says Nothing is unbrekable.
Ashcroft have a good name not because they are indestructable because they warranty them in a heart beat. Yes they are good which helps!

and by entering a competition you don't put yr motor thru any worse than you would at a pay n play
I was being sarcasticStrongly disagree with the last sentance. Every comp I've been to i mean real comp be it trials/comp safari/team recovery or winching events the motors get hammered. But they get maintained after each event they are not expected to drive hundreds of miles after such abuse nor are they expected to be in perfect health after a comp its the nature of the game.
Trials less so in the lower classes but at the nationals there will be people pushing their motors that night they will be rebuilt/repaired oils changed and looked after ready for the next days competing.
i was gonna get rid of mine after xmas for a better spec'd truck cab but after a mate pointed out, sometimes its better the devil you know.
Didnt yu have probs with Ashcroft, Jai? did they resolve that?
I had issues because Dave was in italy Ian wasn't around and I was in a rush to get the 13 month gearbox fixed. So I got a replacement as the receptionist couldn't help me. It was years ago the box is still in a crate waiting to be fixed at some point. I wasn't offered the repair at cost as I should have been but its not Dave or Ians fault but mine for not chasing it up and listening to an arsey receptionist.
I have no quibbles with Ashcroft they have been there done it and Ian is a superb engineer. They have built a buisiness from cometing and they are quite fair with prices i think. I can't afford any of it but most is quality stuff.
that's normalI reckon for every day I spend off road I spend days fixing and cleaning it
