There is always a need, but life always has many pulls on the time and indeed the purse strings... I need a holiday, I need a new (insert whole list of things here). Its never a problem until it is a problem and preventative security (physical, technical and indeed logical) is always a nice to have but one which does not deliver a tangible return and hence is so often overlooked or skinted on.
Not at all but when I see people fork out on big wheels, winches, seats and other stuff before they spend anything on vehicle security.
Three certainties in life are death, taxes and thirdly if you own a defender somebody somewhere is going to want to nick it.
I owned a defender for 4 years and my skytag was 110 ish quid so even factoring in the subscription it's probably cost me a tenner a month and in a week when five were stolen in my area mine was the last stolen and the first recovered, two others were found in the general area of mine but up until then the rozzers had no idea where to look.
Every time I meet a defender owner I'll chat to them about trackers.

Couldn't agree more, unfortunately when I see people listing on here that theirs has been nicked and they haven't bothered fitting one then I have no sympathy. Surly defender owners know how many are stolen?

Anyway as I no longer own a tratter then it's no longer a problem, I very rarely locked it so I knew I wouldn't bother with wheel and pedal locks:oops:
Yer 2a is considered a tratter. ;)

A tracker is relatively cheap. The cost to get someone to monitor it for you is cheap anorl. For what they are tratters are expensive. One may go as far to suggest that's because mugs push up the price due to supply and demand. Been like that for many years. Others would disagree. If yer take someone else's they're remarkably good value. If you have yer own and need parts for it nick someone else's, strip oft what yer want, and chuck water over the rest of it. The remains will wash away down the drain. Sad but true. :(
