Me and a mate have recently bought land rovers, yet his insurance is slightly cheaper than mine!
He's 21 owns a 2004 defender 90 td5 and paid around 11k for it, his insurance is around 500quid for the year he has 3yrs NCD

I'm 22 own a 1997 300tdi disco paid 800quid for it yet with my 4 years NCD I pay 600 quid for insurance!

So I'm older have more NCD, a older less expensive, less powerful landy that's less likely to get stolen..

600 seems alit anyway I pay half that

Was cheapest I could get it after hours of searching, gonna cancel soon, as I'm getting another year ncd next month :D

You must be a bit older stu? I dunno I'm obviously at more risk driving my disco like a old fart than I am driving me sports car at 125mph :D:D

:5bauto:

Your is an old crapper that you generally wont give a stuff about so are more likely to be less careful.

As an example i was paying £400 to insure a 10 year old 530d but when i got a brand new Focus ST that was worth 10 times more it fell to £250.

Statistically, discovery owners are more likely to set their car on fire :D . Im 32 with over 10 years ncd and I pay 290 on a 2001 td5. No doubt they do use their statistics to full effect tho and it might as simple as more people are making claims on your model of car than your mate.

I have a 93 200tdi Disco, i'm 40+ years old, full NCD, only paid £650 for it, insured with the AA fully comp at £151 per year with wife on as 2nd driver...:D

it could be down to postcode, or that one is garaged or somfink, 3 points adds about £60 on some policies too

Don't have any points or claims, I'm in a rural area, park the land rover on private property (in my field out of sight from the road but in sight of the house).

If I was to total the disco it wouldn't be worth claiming for if I didn't need to.

when i was your age i was paying around 12-1500 for my 200tdi disco. now managed to get my insurance on a v8 disco to 800quid and im 24
