The tyres on our Freelander have had it I got in it after not driving it for a while and said "Err how long has the steering wheel been jerking around like this? Did you not notice?" The front tyre is starting to separate. However when I go in on the tyre sites with the registration number it comes up with the vehicle having 16 inch wheels. We have 15" wheels. I have obtained a list of tyre sizes that will fit the rims on line. I was considering wider rubber although one company would just give me the line "we don't recommend different size tyres than recommended". Covering their own backs. In fact I ran a (of all things TR7 fhc) on wider rubber for years with no problems. So was the 16" standard fitment on an 04 td4? Were 15" rims an option and why would you choose them?

04 model had 16ins the 15 in you have was from the old freelander 98-2001 my 2005/6 has 17inch wheels on which cost more on tyres.

The tyre sites take a guess at wheel size ex factory and aren't always accurate.

15" wheels were standard on the base models and went 16", 17" and on the facelift 18" as you moved up the spec range.

Standard 15" tyre size is 195/80/15
