I'm getting about 14-15 mpg out of my 3.9 auto in my 90 towing my boat which is about a tonne on the trailer. I had a rrc 3.9 auto on gas which self destructed so would never go gas again lol

Slipped liner in my case, no proof the gas caused it but ..............
Only 3.5's on petrol for me these days!

No I had no proof the gas caused it either but being a real petrol head thats the story i'm sticking to lol i've not been put off with the 3.9 and would like to swap it for a top hat liner'd 4.6 when the funds allow.

Well me for the next 1,000 miles running in recon top hat 4.6 max 2,500 revs, :( petrol only.

Mine had the gas fitted at 22,000 miles and was fine for 80,000 till a bodged repair by previous owner resulted in a massive overheat, which then lead to slipped liner, nowt to do with gas.

3.9 classic few tweaks 240ish bhp 21-23 mpg average down to 8 when spannking which most of the time worst i have had is 115 miles from a tank full (that was at the lro show on my stand leaving it to run and charge mt iphone then booting it to get people to look at the stand well worth it lol)but hey if i couldn't afford it i would not run it

Yep, Just petrol for me.
Did a run in France this year. 7 people (3 adults & 4 Kids) fully loaded 500l top box and managed nearly 300 miles on £90 worth of fuel, which I was quite impressed with. Mind you.... crawling round town is another matter altogether:doh:

my 91 disco runs on the go go juice, only do pay and play events and green lanes in it so it dont cost to much!

I run my series 2a on just petrol,3.5 v8 on Disco 300tdi axles 265 insa's and overdrive, if I drive normal I'm getting around 18-20mpg! Hit the loud pedal though and it's down to about 6mpg, but more fun!!!

I have a RR supercharged. if you want to realy enjoy driving then petrol is the one. city average is 22 l/100 km on the highway is 14 l/100 km. very expensive i agree but the feeling is amazing. dont recommend though if your budget is limited.

For us lot, he means 12.8mpg round town and 20.1 on the motorway.

Mate, you're lucky to go so fast for such little fuel!

P38 4.6 running on LPG. Converted 3 years ago and can't fault it, can switch to petrol at the press of a button but don't feel a dramatic loss in power running on LPG, nothing that switching to sports mode doesn't fix if I feel the girl racer coming on. Have to keep on top of the plugs and leads though. £40 LPG gives me around 200 miles.

how many miles you do a week? cost?:D

i was running my modified 3.5 V8 manual rangey on just petrol for 8 months, till a few months back. i was doing up to 2500 miles a month, including a few long runs, south wales and back twice a month, surrey and back a few times a week, and a few other odd trips to lincolnshire, liverpool, stoke, truro - etc etc.

financially crippling to say the least, on top of niggling things needing replacing

was getting about 14 -15 mpg out of it with all the mods

thats not bad if its average, what was it round town?

My 72 RRC's future MPG is one of my big questions!!

dont know, but with some long distances it was averaging about 14mpg, i think. went into single figures as well a fair bit though
