Mine's a '92 so nowhere near even close.
It's either Defender, Landy or truck (in fairness I use the term truck myself)

A Ninety is called a Ninety, a Defender is called a Defender.

A truck is something that delivers goods, and blocks up the inside two lanes on motorways.

And my 110 also blocks up inside lanes [dare not play in the fast lane!] So maybe mines a truck!

Mine probably isn't the oldest, but getting close to it. It's a 1990 pre production run ex military. It was made for the French to test out so its a LHD. original 200 tdi engine, gearbox etc. Original chassis with a replacement rear cross member otherwise no rust or welding. It was resprayed earlier this year. Previous owner used to praise the fact that in 20 years it had never been cleaned. It has loads of bearings, ball joints etc replaced as it has crossed the Sahara several times. It was only last year I changed the rad and heater matrix. I still have them as I plan to get them reconditioned when the new one wears out. They wont last 25 years like the original ones. The only big mod it has had was a Salisbury front axle fitted. The Original got bent on a trip across Morocco. In its current condition I'm sure it will go on for several more years yet. And its due to go back across Morocco next year. It will hold 65/70 mph on the motorway and often does do Its just passed its Control Technic ( French MOT) With only two advisories. One was the Chassis number couldn't be read due to age. and a new diesel oil filter was leaking. I hadn't screwed it up tight enough

I might be missing something here, but I think the thread was about the oldest Ninety/ One Tens still running?

Ninety/One Ten were made from about 83. So that is an early Defender.

Nope, looks like I'm the one missing something here. mine is a early Defender and I'm proud of it.

That doesnt look too silly at that money, although as usual there are no pics of the underside.

My Ninety must be one of the youngest ones still running. It was registered in January 1990, and I think Defenders started being registered from September 90.

I have two 90s one registered June 90 and the other registered on my actual birthday Jan 90

Had a mid 85 110 V8 Csw, quite a bit of money when I bought it in 1997 (£5250-00) but it was in very good condition, had a gas conversion, galv full roof rack and ladder. Used as daily driver and as a work truck for 9 years then handed over to daughter and boyfriend when we left for France. Over the years I replaced the rad, head gasket, clutch, bushes and a few other minor bits and bobs.
About 3 years ago had to get back to UK due to my mothers health. this co-incided with my daughter breaking up with her fella and telling me that she had had enough of trying to park the 110 near where she worked. So I bought her a cheapo corsa, had the 110 back and just sold it to a dealer for practically nothing the morning I was due to get on the ferry.
To be honest my mind was in a bad place at that time and almost every day I regret getting rid of it in the way that I did, she was still in really good condition, no rust to door bottoms/chassis/bulkhead you could put a glass of wine on the engine and rev it and only get a few ripples.
Breaks my heart even just typing this, wish I had just sold it to one of you guys for the same £800 I got for it. And yes I still think I was stitched up.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I've got an 87 90 on the road. It's got a 300tdi in it now though. She needs a lot of work but runs fine. this time next year she's likely to be triggers broom though.
