Hi

i have a v8 D2...and i absolutely love it.

So q1 - who should i use in essex (im Maldon) to maintain it? Any recommendations?

And q2 - when money allows, i want to ‘restore’ it aka fix / ‘make better than new’, but only everything ‘underneath’. I dont want to change to body and how it looks...but id like it ‘better than new’ underneath.

And suggestions please?

To restore better than new will cost more than buying a new defender.

Well, I wish you the best of luck but there have been plenty of people who have thought the same but half way through, they loose heart for any one of several reasons and then sell the vehicle on as a project after ploughing maybe thousands in to it. Keep the vehicle and do as much to it as you can yourself before spending big money on contracting the work out to a specialist. Landys are like women, you'll do anything for them to start with but after a year or so, you just wish someone would take the nightmare off you hands

why does it need to be better than new? returning to as new condition would be enough surely?

Yep...just expressing that i want to invest.

i assume, as no one has come forward with any recommendations so far, we’ve no one in essex who we love to use?

There was someone Southend way, I can’t remember much sorry it was years and years ago I used them :/
