My bosses P38 (a good condition, well maintained 2001 4.0 SE) went for it's MOT and to have the ABS & TC lights investigated....£1,100 later, he got it back!! Ouch. New shock, new brake lines, new ABS/TC ECU, HEVAC interrogated and blend motors repaired....four pages later I was bored of reading the job list!!

Scary thing is, my Classic is going in on Tuesday - crossed fingers for a much cheaper bill, please, everyone!

Ha, thanks James - we can hope.

My other car has gone in today for a new thermostat and water pump to be fitted at the local BM Specialist, and my motorbike needs taxing and two new tyres - quite an expensive vehidle month!!

Busters have a good deal on michelin bike tyres at the moment, do you want a JCB to empty a few cash machines for the rest? Good luck mate.

Thanks for the offer Dave! I use Dunlop SportSmarts on the bike as they cope with a fair few trackdays as well as plenty of road miles :)

Can't beat FWRs prices for tyres, they do pair deals at great prices and sets of three at silly prices though on reduced ranges of often last year's tyres.

Who is FWR Steve? I'm not worried about fashionable tyres, I run Daytona 900, often 2 up, so you can see I ain't a fashion king, my leathers are plain black etc. Mind you I'd love another gixer but I can't bend far enough (back op) and my wife has already refused the pillion!

I tend to go up to California Superbike School up at Silverstone, they get good prices on from Dunlop and if you're on one of their days you can benefit from their discount!

You say that, but one of the guys I ride with rides a Daytona 955i and it's bloody uncomfortable compared to my GSX-R750!!

FWR LTD Britain's Cheapest Tyres!.

Gixxers are quite comfortable compares to some bikes. GSXR1000s have more leg room than my Busa.
