IMG_20161207_153355.jpg There is a a steel tank, like from an compressor under my airfilter. One hose is attached approx 80 cm Long, then there is a T with 2 more hoses approx 15 ca. ....they are just hanging in the engine room.... >Is this some Kind of vacum cylinder for the power assisted breaks>? >Or what else can it be?

Is it a standard vehicle of has it had an engine conversion, if so from what to what? Cant really see from the picture but could it be some sort of carbon filter for emissions purposes or a dehydrator canister for aircon (if you have it?). Where can the dangly pipes reach to - may give you a clue?

I'd guess that it is a vacuum accumulator for the brakes.

Could be right, if it has a Perk or similar, that would have been connected to the exhauster pump.

Pretty hard to tell from that pic, tbh, could be almost anything!

As above - unless it also has a clutch servo - and someone felt the need to put a vac tank in....
We need better pictures really.:)

It's made worse identifying the component because it's in the engine bay of a Santana 2500.

Above better Pictures of the tank.....what is it, if it is a vacum tank, why isit not hooked up....? Truck runs fine....

Pics are much better! :)
It will probably only affect the brake servo, not the running
Maybe you dont have a servo or it is running off another vacuum source?

Have a servo, and the pump is directly conected to the break...... but somehow something wrong, nobody builts something in a car which you don´t need...
Will make some Pictures toorrow from the pump and it´s concetions....

People often do do that. I have removed the bits sometimes! :)

Often because the vehicle has been changed in some way, like a different engine, or maybe a new vaccum pump makes the tank redundant.

If you dont need it, and your motor is working ok, just remove it and scrap it!
