I have mates who have used him in the passed , There is 12 month warranty with them , i have put a link on my site as well , I dont know if they have them stock as i ask about dropping mine in for rebuild , But went it to great detail on what they do , If any one finds any more Lt 95 box rebuilders down south i would be intrested for the link , I am still surprised ashcrofts dont do them,
A lot of mechanics over the age of sixty could possibly do it for you if you got him the bits. Most garages had a gearbox man back in the old days. Anybody under say about fourtyfive, unless he works for a specialist won't know what the inside of a gearbox looks like.
So I sent my LT95 off to David Beaumont 4x4 and for just over £500 (which includes the carriage up there and back). He has stripped it down and replaced any damaged parts with new parts and is sending it back tomorrow for my chap to fit back in.
So....watch this space again to see how it performs when its back in the car!
Try giving Stephens Engineering in Hertfordshire a call, I know they are a auto-transmission shop - but they are engineers - perhaps they'll rebuild a gearbox if asked? They have a very good reputation I've used them a few times with no problems at all.
