Whereabouts in Essex are you then? There's an off-road site in Bures - I'm forever getting people tell me to go there (haven't got round to it yet) - which is possibly your nearest one if you're in the north of the county. Drop in to 4x4 Partsmaster (Brantham) on a Monday morning and it'll be full of people buying replacement bits that got broken over the weekend
