Loaned out my 2001 freelander to a friend for most of the year, on the day he was returning it , it lost power and started billowing out smoke as above.
I have since replaced the air filter, crankcase breather filter, the filter that looks like a in line fuel filter and cleaned out a very grubby egr. To be fair all these things needed done. I have also disconnected the maf sensor and it made no difference. The inter cooler pipe does seem to collapse when I up the revs, in my naively way I unclipped this pipe and got a good spray of oil...

Is there anything obvious I have missed?
