Hi
I have just had some major work done to my 1999 TD5 Defender.
I have had new clutch plates / thrust washer & flywheel installed.
There was always a whining noise which came from the clutch / gearbox.
To explain.........
Particularly when the engine is cold, when I select a gear after depressing the clutch, I get this horrible whining / dragging sound from somewhere down under. When I release the clutch and drive, it goes. When I depress the clutch and select another gear, it comes back. It seems to gradually become less and less as the engine and gearbox warms up.
I am ****ed off, as I have just had all this work done, and it obviously hasn't sorted the problem out.
Any ideas?????
Thanks in advance
