the problem with a winch is if/when it does break, it will almost certainly be when you need it most. Can you afford to have your winch fail when your in a bit of a predicament?
My Albright solonoid decided to die in the peak district last weekend when i was stuck on a lane, luckily I managed to drive out in the end, but I may have had to reverse out. Lesson learned - lack of use causing sticky solonoid, tap with hammer sorted the contacts I am now going to spool in and out once a month etc and check it, because I dont want this happening again. Note: it wasnt the winch itself but the sealed solonoid pack!
