hi, i have a series 3 land rover with a 3.5 v8 fitted. I am having trouble getting a new water pump for it. on mine the pump has a round peg on the base of the shaft that slots into the pulley, it has a internal thread and is then secured by one central bolt. The nearest one i can find has a external thread. I am stuck. no one seems to know what pump i have and i cant match it.

Thanks. I found out why i cant find one today. went to bearmack and they told me mine has been bodged. someone has cut the shaft, then drilled a hole in it and tapped a thread. bought a similar one today so prob have to change pulley now aswell.

well i seen some 1 today with same problem :) im sure you can swop the pully wheel but not to big orr to small just inbetween will be fine happy trucking

Just a word of warning,if the radiator is still in the original place not all waterpumps will fit,the shaft will be too long and foul on the rad. Sounds like someones chopped your old one to make it fit.
If this is the case the one you need is from a rover p6 3.5 V8 as it's a shorter pump and won't need any mods but you'll have to get the pulley aswell.
