Hi all

I have just bought my first Defender which I totally love.I am a dog walker so it's perfect for me to take them all over the place. I live in the hills near Derbyshire/cheshire so am hoping it'll be great for the bad weather we get.
Anyway, enough rambling....I've been told to get some kind of visible steering lock..it has an alarm and immobiliser but that won't stop them I guess.
Which one?..looking at the Disklok but I think I need a medium and they aren't easy to find. It's an expensivee mistake if they are rubbish.
Any advice would be welcome so thank you

Barbara

Definitely Disklock, that's what everyone on here recommends, put steering on full lock first;);)
Off the top of my head I'm sure its a Large one you need, no doubt somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. :D:D:D:D

I'll be happy to give you electric shock therapy....

or do you not mean that type of correction?:p

buy a disclok but then go across to landywatch and read the thread on how to modify it so it is actually an anti-theft device, and not just a very expensive bit of metal.

Where's this thread? I've had a little look but can't find it...

Do you have a link to that thread I carnt seem to find it

Thank you. I thought I needed a medium so will re measure. I am a girl after all!!!!
I have been all over the net and can't see anything else recommended other than Disklok.
Will also search for the thread to make it into an anti theft device ( you'd think that for that money it'd do it's job without modifications:confused::confused::confused:)

Oh and Tilly I have definitely got a Large Disklock on my Fender;);),

Thank you again...am looking online for the large Disklok..best price £89 but not in stock until 8 June. Fingers crossed my Dolly Defender will be safe until then. Reading the net has made me totally paranoid now...

One joker on EBay has listed one for over £300 :mad::eek:

I got mine second hand of eBay with both keys for £30

Oops . I've just forked out £40 for a small . My steering wheel has been changed for a landy sport model . Just over 39cm . Small size is supposed to be for 35-39! Will it fit???

I use the bog standard wheel lock, you know, the enclosed yellow thing. However, I also use a Clutch Claw, which is brilliant. Fitting both takes about 20 seconds and whilst neither is impossible to beat it just makes the truck that bit harder to nick. Got the wheel lock on eBay and bought the Claw new.

Size small fits 39cm wheel - I also bought a homemade pedal lock from eBay - going to get Fob activation in the next coming weeks too - you can never be too sure ;)
