Hello,

I know that this is an often asked question but I can not find a single thread related to it. I am wanting to replace the tired springs on my 1986 90 with some nice new ones. I don't want to lift (or lower) my 90, but just keep it sitting at a standard height. It's wearing 235 x 85 boots anyway, so it sits high enough. I also want to avoid original, boring black springs and add a little colour. I like the look of the blue springs and I know that someone makes them for around £50 a set - is it bearmach? The yellow Britpart ones look the part but are no doubt ****e I imagine?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Tom

I've just put a full set of standard height, heavy duty yellow Britpart on mine. Surely they can't get a lump of metal wrong:eek:

so you don't care about spring rates just the colour?

Correct. It's got standard LR springs on it now and they're fine, even with a ton of load in the back. I just want to give my suspension an overhaul and put some nice coloured springs on it that aren't going to sag

Just buy some standard black ones and paint them a colour of your choice?

Be careful if you go HD though. They can stiffen up the ride somewhat!

I agree - buy the standard ones. I have FamousFour HD springs and HD absorbers. This makes the ride way to stiff and not very comfortable (my oppinion ..). I will soon convert back to standard and then maybe use two absorbers in the back when heavy loaded during long vacation trips etc.

By the way ... where can I buy genuine springs and absorbers on the internet?
Most shops do not have the genuine parts (e.g. Paddock)

Don't fit HD springs unless you have NO speed bumps, pot holes or any kind of lump and bump.
The terrifirma medium ones are very good!!
But they are grey!! Not blue sorry

Britpart HD look the business... thats all i can report back, their good for towing, but bumpy as hell, being 18 years old im ok though lol

Just replaced all mine with new springs from Brigg Springs. North Lincs. Decent bloke to deal wth and not over the top moneywise. He don't do them in pretty colours though. Black is the norm..

Had a set on my 90 for a month ,then my back said enough! Went back to standard springs. As woody3 says just paint the colour you want A set of gas dampers/shocks well worth it,also available in many colours.:D

Cheers for the replies guys. I think I will buy standard height, standard duty OEM springs and then take them to get powder coated or simply spray them in a nice powder blue paint. Seems logical :D

Thanks,
