I replaced the silencer from the down pipe through to the back end only three years ago. I bought a Paddock's special which cost about £75 and the thing has already rusted through. The back box has broken away from the tail pipe and the pipe leading into the back box also has a whole in it.
Any suggestions on a good exhaust system that will last longer than three years and doesn't cost the earth.
It's for a 110, 200 tdi.

get one made up from a specialist exhaust place cheap enough and will last longer than a ****part one.

Mine is looking pretty scabby after 18 months. Think I will probably go stainless

Sorry to hijack your thread. I have a 1991 DEf 110 which had a 2.5NA engine which was later swapped for a Def 200TDI engine along with the down pipe from the exhaust manifold.

I would like to replace the entire silencer but confused if I have to go in for the 200tdi or 2.5na after the downpipe. If I go in for a 200tdi is the fittings the same on the chassis?

I am going Stainless piece by piece.
No silencer.

I don't know the answer but you could try calling these guys as there systems seem to fit several Defenders. Land Rover 110 2.5 (86-90) Complete Exhaust System | eBay.

stainless right from the manifold off the turbo to the back,removed most of rear section to do away with the rear rust section.

its ok with just centre box..

I see Paddocks do a Stainless steal one for around £390. Anyone tried one?
I also saw some on ebay for around £250,
