Just a small warning, I had a BMW E39 some years back that came with the factory fit Motorola in the armrest, The car suffered a parasitic drain (can you see where this is going?... Yeah, the battery in the phone was goosed and so it would constantly pull a couple of amps trying to charge which meant that while the car was parked in a hotel all week whilst I was at work I'd come back to a flat battery. So, my advice would be that when you put one in, are sure it has a good battery or pull the fuse for the phone if you don't plan to use it.
I'm a big fan of this type of thing, I actually have a fitted and fully working Nokia car phone in my 90's Mercedes.
