So, I recently changed the manifold gaskets (3.9 95 Disco) and guess what, there blowing again already!

I see there are two types, the individual pressed foil type and then the type that are pressed tin and cover two outlets with one gasket.

My question is, which is better? I hate that blowing, happy noise these rovers emit when they blow! Are there any aftermarket choices that last longer?

Mods, apologies if this is in the wrong section.

Thanks all :)

I'm assuming we're talking exhaust manifold gaskets?
Check the faces of the manifolds & that they are true with no warpage.
Had an issue on mine with Double S tubular manifolds. The faces of the manifolds were very badly corroded - these are supposedly stainless steel! - with deep pitting.
Refaced them as far as possible but it was still necessary to use a small amount of firegum to ensure good seal. The heads were fine.
I use the individual gaskets, bear in mind that whilst they will fit in several orientations only one is correct.

Yes, exhaust manifolds. I too used the individual gaskets, there just seems to be a little more ‘squash’ in them I think.
Just strange how they only lasted a few weeks. I’ll check the manifolds, never really thought that far into it when I replaced them.

Thanks :)
