wooah,
i was on gravel today,
i'll sort that tommorow then.
What is the little wheel chock that is tucked away with the bottle jack good for then?

Most of what i do to mine is on gravel, i think the problem was that it's not a particularly firm base and the handbrake locks the prop shaft, not the wheels, so the rear wheels can still spin - albeit only the same amount in opposite directions - which when the front is propped up is exactly the right amount to create a pivot point and topple it! If it's the only thing you ever do and is the only thing you ever take from here, chocking your wheels is probably pretty high up there!!! (if it did collapse on you with all the wheels still on, the chances are you would be in a place that the ground clearance would mean it wouldn't kill you, but it REALLY isn't worth risking!)

Any chock is better than none, if you've ever tried pushing your landy up onto a bit of 2x4 as i did today you'll see that even that will hold it and it needs momentum to be able to mount it unaided, but the bigger the better!

For changing a wheel you can't beat the little bottle jacks that come as standard issue with discos. Have a look on the bay of e.

Very true. Lifting the body to lift the axel is dodgey bollocks. Ive nicked one of those jacks out my dads 110 TD5, there brilliant.
