Wow some great stuff on that site. I see they do high ratio kits for the series 3 box.. also a strengthened internal gear set for a 380 - be ideal if they made a similar kit for a series 3 box!
 
LT77 isn't much bigger than a series box no idea if they come in short bellhousing though, if not derv box, conversion ring (adds 1 or 2 inches to length) and conversion for spigot shaft is needed if using the derv one for length as no idea on V8 housing size
 
Box will have different sized input hence adaptor plate for V8 if using derv box and adaptor for spigot as different size. V8 crank is 24 internal and spigot is 22.5 outer iirc on derv instead of smaller size on V8 box

This is on lt77 but on all boxes V8 input is slightly skinnier
 
I'd check with Rover/Roamerdrive but I think you can run their overdrive with quite a hefty engine but they just recommend that you fit the transfer oild cooler (basically a bigger sump with fins on I think). If you've got the poke from your engine I'd recommend 3.54 difss AND a Roverdrive, the split gears are useful (especially for overtaking) but also if you've got the torque and power you can be doing motorways speeds without your ears bleeding

Didn't know about this thing.. and I quite like the sound of it!

I'm now seriously considering sticking with the series 3 box & transfer case - rebuild them both completely, get a roamerdrive and ranger rover diffs. And of course a rover v8 (adapter kit for series gbox from rpi).
 
get a miller plate for less, I've had them on my last two and sold both for about £60 so can get one on ebay for about that or less maybe

with S3 you'll have to take it easy, fairy or del torro over drive for those boxes, a good fairey is damned expensive

What's a miller plate? don't suppose you mean an oil feed plate? although not sure what it would have to do with the roamer drive..
 
Sorry should be Milner not miller but its a box to block adaptor, you'll also need to make a custom spigot bush 22.25 internal and 24 mm outer or do some messing with the crank, will need a machined flywheel as well
 
If you could still get them I'd be interested. Personally I'd prefer a new kit with all the bits required (as few as possible)... that way you know its all in prefect condition and with no surprises! (probably dreaming)
 
Not sure if parker does them, I've only had the Philips Milner ones

Did you have a look at your calendar about the winch btw ?

With the Roamerdrive because of its construction you can use it in all gears including low ratio. However, with Fairey (and I think Santana) it's not recommended except 3rd and 4th. Also, they're a bit easier to fix as most of the synchro bits are the same as the gearbox ones and the oil is shared with the transfer box (still not sure if that's a good thing) but it does mean they're better at getting rid of heat which is better for a big engine.

They are f***ing expensive (£1200) but I got great after sales from rockymountain uk when I had trouble with mine (the bearing was knackered - not sure if that was me fitting it wrong or just a bad bearing) after a few misses (trying different backs/fronts etc) Martin sorted me with a new one and its not missed a beat. The Heystee thing will be worth watching as it may compete on price.

I've emailed Heystee to ask about price, availability and strength of their boxes as I'd like an overdrive for my LWB project and not sure what to get...
