You sure about that Ant? Cyprus was a former British protectorate and may use the same terminology. & Co Ltd applies, or used to apply, in some former colonies but the companies were indigenous not UK companies.
According to Comapnies House Web Check Black Box Solutions LTD is registered using a postal address in Addlestone, Surrey....

I am sure in the EU you can't use LTD unless you are legitimatly registered as such...but you may be right - what with all these loop holes and older colonial rules etc...maybe something to research into!

If it's listed at companies house, then it's a UK company, sounds a bit dodgy as you are not normally allowed to have the main operation of a UK LTD company based in another country. I continued to run Datatek Ltd from France but all it's transactions were in the UK so although the authorities in France were not happy, there was little they could do about it. You can of course have overseas subsidiaries, but these would normally be registered under local law.

From brief research - You can register your comapny in the UK and it must have a postal address for the official documents to be sent to you in the UK...you can run the company from overseas, but all your tax liability will be under the UK Tax Law and taxed as such....

Not sure on consumer protection if you are buying through a UK registered Company, operating from an EU Country...you'll have to read the T&C's of the sale to see which countries laws apply to the sale...whereas the company itself has to comply with UK LTD comapny rules on reporting accounts and etc....I believe the sale of goods my be governed by the local legislature and hence your payment/receipt of goods may not be guaranteed under local (Cyprus) law....

Best to check with the UK Trading Standards people who maybe able to offer advice on where we would stand legally...

I agree that the UK don't object, it's the other country that is unhappy.
I just checked, when I bought my kit, BBS banked with Telford branch of RBS in the UK. Maybe they also have a Cypriot bank account for Euro's.

I wonder how many people have wished their country had never joined for the euro, and how many people are saying "I told you so! "

I wonder how the EU are going to bully and harrang Cyprus into staying in the Euro to preserve "the project" at all costs?
Ober gruppen fuhrer Merkal is going to cut off the financial support if they don't click their heels and bend over to be shafted:mad:
