Just about ready to fit exhaust but not sure which one as didnt have one on to compare when I stripped it.
Mine is Series 109 2 door pickup, Could it be this one ? 109in Petrol Full Exhaust System (to 1974, 2 door, front fill tank) - Paddock Spares

I should think that will work, you may have to move a few brackets around, either on the chassis or the exhaust itself.

From memory, Series petrol and diesel exhausts are the same diameter pipe, but 2.6 six cylinder engines use a larger diameter pipe.

So as you have a 4 cylinder petrol, that should match up OK on the manifold.
 
If it’s from Paddocks it is no doubt a Britpart system. The silencers will leak and you’ll be lucky to get 18 months out of the whole thing.
Prolly worth a punt as at least you’ll know which one to buy next time.

Not had any issues with the ones I have fitted, to be honest.

I got two from them. I stupidly thought the first may have been made on a Friday but the back box on the second one 18 months later also leaked on the seam. Not badly but enough to fail an MOT if spotted.

And I painted both of them to make them last a little longer. You’d expect more from a Diesel engine with all the crap they spew out.

I have had plenty on diesels, they have lasted OK. And fitted one on the petrol Series earlier in the year, which is still fine.
Not worried about MOT, as it is exempt.
And to be honest, if it does give a problem, I will just get another. 70 quid for a complete SWB system with all the straps and brackets, and postage. Takes me about an hour to fit one.
Not really worth spending more on something that does about 1k a year.

I was actually quite impressed with the quality of the one I bought this year. Sure the ones I used to fit in the 80s were worse, I seem to remember having to mess around with them more to get them to fit nicely.
Britpart don't make any parts, they are a wholesaler, so they may have changed supplier recently.
 
I must admit the SS stainless one I fitted four years ago ain’t that fantastic either. It’s had a second set of hangers that I already had in mi spares bucket and is showing surface rust. I doubt it will last more than another five or six years. :D

I have sometimes thought about getting stainless. Price, and weight, put me off.

It should last for decades if you never get the thing back on the road! :rolleyes::D

Thanks to be honest Im not sure there are any brackets on my chassis, will have to check, dont think they can be that bad, but for the price Ill be happy to get 18 months out of one.

The brackets are bolt on, go into rivnuts, which you can insert into some of the many holes in the chassis as needed.
 
I have sometimes thought about getting stainless. Price, and weight, put me off.

It should last for decades if you never get the thing back on the road! :rolleyes::D
I don’t remember it being any heavier. They’re only tin foil at best.
The SS ones do block up the padding on a diesel. Kind of sounds a bit tinny after the first six months. Not that I have an issue with that.

That is interesting. Guessing they have cut down on thickness to save on costs.
Last time I looked into them, which must have been over 30 years ago, was for a 6 cylinder petrol, and at that time the SS one for that was several kilos heavier than the mild steel one.

I bought separate ones when I ordered originally. That’s why I had a spare set in mi bucket.

If you look on the Paddock site, they do a mounting kit. It is about 15 quid all in. All brackets, rubbers, bolts, washers, etc.

You can assemble the rubbers and brackets on the system, and them hold up under the vehicle to see where to insert the rivnuts.

The way I do it is to assemble the complete system on the floor, including brackets and rubbers, with reference to the existing system. But leave all the bolts loose.
Then I remove the old system, bolt the whole thing under the vehicle, and attach the downpipe to the manifold.
Then I wiggle it all around to line it up, and get it hanging relaxed, then tighten all the bolts.

Obviously, if you don't have an old system, you are going to have to play it more by trial and error.
 
The only issue I had on the 88 was getting the front pipe over the crossmember and up to the manifold. The back end hits the floor before you get the angle right. It will go but it’s a faff. Not sure if yours will be the same but a set of ramps might help.
