Hi guys

My my04 Disco 2 is missing a CD changer. The wiring loom is under the seat.

Gaving trawled the web there seem to be a couple of possible Alpine model numbers which might be compatible. Any idea how I can find out the original model number that was fitted?

Thanks as always

Hi Stu, I'm sorry I can't help with the CD changer, but did you know that you can connect an mp3 player to the radio and play your tunes that way?

Alternatively, replace the head unit with a radio/CD player that have either a memory card or USB slot on the face. With a suitable SD card/USB key you can put 1000's of tunes on one unit and never be stuck for music????

Cheers

Thanks Dave

I was looking at a Connect2 interface as an option - allowing me to connect an iPod where the CD changer would normally go, and allowing the remote controls on the steering wheel to operate it. The only problem is that this product is described as working for Discos up until my2003. I'm trying to find out why it's not recommended for an my04 vehicle.

I will post my findings.

BTW I'm trying to steer clear of FM or Bluetooth solutions as the audio quality suffers.

Cheers

Hi stu, hope this is of some help ,I have a 2002 face lift Disco 2, in 2004 I put in a 6 cd auto changer,L/R ref- P LSTC50465AA. This came with wiring to connect to the radio, looks like the one fitted to your car has been removed at some time, there was no wiring under drivers seat when I fitted mine. The cost of the auto changer at the time was,£268 from L/ R dealer.

London stu,

If you want an original CD autochanger Guy Salmon in Sheffield have a few they are trying to get rid of. I was offered one the other day for I think about £90! Give them a ring and ask the parts dept.

Regards
