I need to replace the battery on my disco 1. It's been sat on the drive waiting for the end of the summer (i work in events) and I'm about to start a major overhaul as my season finishes and before it goes travelling with me.
In the mean time the battery has gone totally dead (It's v old and knackered) and I can't open the doors!! I've gained access to the bonnet and need to replace the battery so I can get into the car and begin work. In time I'm planning on putting a winch and split charge system in. I've got space on the passenger side for the second battery but I'm wondering what batteries to go for. I've got a snorkel fitted but obviously there is limited space by the air box.
Is it best to have two of the same battery and if so what are peoples reccomendaitons given the limited space on the other side? Unfortuntately I don't have a tape measure so can't give the size of the 3nd battery space but will measure this tomorrow. I've read many people saying put the biggest battery you can in the standard tray but will it matter if I have two different sizes/specs of battery installed?
