i'd start checking around the rest of the disco for the last owners 'MODIFING' ;)

i'd just go on the bay of flea and search universal air filter, the G boy type

and remove the top of ya snorkle and bolt it up there ;)

whatever last owner has done LOOKS to be right:), it might only when i delve into it further i find out for sure

Something like this? won't go high up but i could piece it in under the bonnet and it looks like it will keep the water out?????????

try gresti's scrapyard on langworthy road south m8, they will have something there ya can use, chances are they will have a disco filterbox knocking about somewhere

I used to live off langworthy lurverly place!!

That'd do it, but I'd (me being a bit of a perfectionist) would take it apart and slap a shed-load of silicone or a n other sealer about so it's definitely water/air tight.

my thoughts exactly, i've seen water get in to a standard air filter box..........

But there's some movement in em, you sure they don't come off?

yeh i knows i'm thick!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear loads of people have asked this , they're just covers (which don't come off) to make the wheel nuts look nice and match the alloys. I'm sure if you go at them hard and long enough they'll come off, but don't!! Use as normal.
Rant over.
Welcome to the forum!:D

Luv Joe.

It's not dumb Mate, just ignorance. I've got loads of ignorance so I should know :D

Brian

:D Thats good cause i got loads more of these daft little probs to sort, i'll tackle em one at a time and prob never get to the end of em, just got my lights sorted (without any help) next job a service........

well the photo shows where the air box was on a 300 see the holes where it was bolted down.
if you ain't got a filter in the snorkel then some cheapskate has fitted the snorkel using a fitting kit which is for a different snorkel than that fitted, some have a filter inbuilt and some connect to the existing airbox

no m8 they don't come off they just cause strange bloody rattles which always seem to come from somewhere strange steering/suspension type of area. i spent 4 months looking for mine then found it by accident while doing some other work! if you have still got the alloys on then get a few (folks sell 'em new on ebay and replace the ones where the covers seem loose) and save a nightmare on a dark wet night in the middle of nowhere (that's always when i struggle to get me nuts off like!)
