I have bought a generic relay box: has 5 relays and corresponding fuses. My plan is to use relays for the heads lights and maybe the heater fan. I am not sure where to locate it, as it is not tiny. I and worried I will fit it somewhere and then later find when I fit everything else onto the car it gets in the way. Any suggestions?

On my 110 I fitted my axillary fuse box and relay box (8 relays) into the battery box along with two large isolator solenoids and a single large battery. I know that people convert the under seat tool box to be a battery box with some engine conversions so that may be a possibility?

It is 14cm L, 8cm W, 10cm H and it is splash-proof.
The battery i have fitted under the bonnet is about 15mm longer than the standard size. It does fit but i don't think there is an obvious way to get this relay box to fit there.
I could put the relay box under a seat, but that does mean running cables a bit further than i would like.
I don't know what goes where on engine side of the bulkhead - i have the engine in place and brake/clutch/heater matrix in place, but i suspect there may be a few more odds ends (ticker etc). I haven't worked out how much room i have before i hit the underside of the bonnet.

If you have a proper diesel you should have some space on the bulkhead where the horrible electrical components on a petrol sit? I would try and avoid mounting it on the wing as the wings are so easy to remove for maintenance as standard you do not want to hinder that IMO, it annoys me the washer bottle is mounted to one!

To the passenger side of the coil looks free. It might need a bit of care mounting but that space looks free.

This is how I did mine.

Small fuse box on the bulkhead, glowplug and ignition relays (black) on the bulkhead, additional relays for fan, headlights, horn, etc on the inner mud shield.

I think i prefer that position on the photo - next to the coil is above the engine and that is likely to get hot.

It's closer for the fan sensor, and a direct route for power from the alternator.

I'm doing this exact job tomorrow. Fan, main and dipped beam relays.
