'Morning all, (I haven't had my lunch yet...;))
The pollen filter on the drivers side is wet. I've sealed the cover and am sure that water is not getting in there. Where else can water get into the pollen filter area? It is running down onto the floor beneath the carpet and getting perilously close to the BeCM, which as we all know, must be kept dry. Plus my aircon is off just now due to failed condenser (anyone got one for a 2001 2.5 DT? or any hen's teeth?) so its generally a bit damp inside.
Thanks for any ideas.

Maybe base of the pollen filter box if the drains are blocked. One drain in each corner of scuttle panel.

Thanks Wammers. So if there are drains, it must be expected that water will get in?
So if I take the filter out I should see the drain holes?

The water is definitely coming in onto the top of the pollen filter. I've had the wiper off, and the panel beneath. The plastic windscreen strip had been botched on with silicone. I think maybe the water has been coming in the rusted screw holes where the top of the plastic panel should be fixed. Cleared all the accumulated crap away, dried it out and sealed around all the holes with Dum dum. Then it got dark and started raining again so I've put it back together and come in for a Guinness.:)
Next dry day I'll have it all apart again, put the strip on right and seal it up properly.
Still couldn't see any drain holes tho'...

Drain holes are in front corners of scuttle panel at either side you may not be able to see them until you remove pollen filter box. That is sealed to scuttle by a foam gasket around pollen box which is held to scuttle by eight screws.

After suffering exactly the same problem, doing what you guys have and ending up changing my "O" rings, it just so happened that I had to have my windscreen replaced due to a large crack.

Whilst the guy was taking the old one out we found that the old windscreen sealant had not sealed around the area above the drivers side pollen filter and up that screen side (plus a couple of other areas).

The fitting of the new screen has not only solved my wet floor but also got rid of the wind noise I was suffering at certain times.
