Sorry for being thick - I've asked this before but never found it! Should I be looking on the exhaust pipe side or the prop shaft side of the box and is it towards the front or the rear? (TDi300 1995, later model gearbox)

As you sit in the vehicle it's on the lhs of the gearbox, about half way along.

Ta BL, found it at last! Not connected up though :-( The 2 wires go to a black connector but I can't find the other one to connect em to!

Curiously, I have exactly the same thing. I found what I believe to be the other socket on the far side of the box, on one of ours.
