where is my td5 fuel stop solanoid located.
a photo would be appreciated. no idea what it looks like, how big it is or where its located...i need to get a proper landy manual.!
i cant even use the internet to find its location
 
There isn't one in the same way a diesel with a injection pump has one, because of the way a common rail diesel works. The fuel control solenoid shuts stopping the fuel which will be up on the fuel delivery/pressure reg system.

stop solanoids are located on the the fuel injection pump,about 1/2 the size of your thumb

The TD5 doesn't have a injection pump.
 
can you tell me where the switch is on a tdi200 the engine still runs after i've switched it off also anyone know how much for a new one
 
ok if there is no stop solanoid on a td5 what id preventing fuel getting to my engine. it gushes out of the fuel pressure gate. but it fails to fire up. i am close to taking the biggest hammer i have in my garage and giving my landy some pain. useless it is. anyone have a link to a test method for the relays.
would a short on the landy body do damage to the glow plugs of anything else.

Look on the injection pump, you will see a single wire that goes onto a spade connector on top of the pump body, its a little round rasied bit.

You can pull that wire off with the engine running to make sure it is the switch and not dodgey electrics.

If the engine doesn't stop then unscrew the solenoid and give it a clean up, might get it working again, failing that buy a new one.

ECU/electric issue?
 
i have already cleaned up and tried to reset the fuel cut off switch in the engine bay. no joy with that. i left the battery disconnected for 24 hours today, but it still turns over but refuses to fire. what would stop the fuel getting to the piston stage. i have a nanocom coming to hopefully provide more information. anyone have any other angles i could look at. an ecu failure would be rare considering its come out of the blue.
