Help needed with disco 3.. need new engine.. p.s live in Derbyshire

Welcome to the loonyzone, Bekkie! :)
I think this area is to post about where yu live, might be a while til anyone notices you in here! ;)

Might be an idea to post that in General Landrover section, or Discovery section.

Try and be a bit more descriptive of your problem, say what has happened to your old engine, and what engine it is.

You say you need a new engine, there is a wanted section, but you cant use it until you have posted 50 times, I think. Someone who has one can pick up on yer thread and pm you, though.:)

Fraid I cant advise on that, I dont do smartphones, being a dinosaur! :)

Might be easier on a puter if you can access one later.
I don't believe you're a dinosaur but yes will have a look later.. After I've had copious amounts of alcohol
(Needed after hunters gave me a quote of 15,000 pounds to mend it  )

Bekkie, maybe try Alan Smith Garages (ASG) in Derby - independent LR specialists, Manchester Street I think , handily off the Ashbourne Road, for a second opinion?

HI EVERONE IM A NEWBIE ON HERE. JUST GOT MY FIRST EVER LANDROVER DEFENDER.
BEEN CONVERTED FROM A LANDCRUISER. LOOKING TO DO EXPEDITIONS IN CONVOY,

hey all, I'm in sunny Plymouth. I have loads of questions wrt loads of things I want to do to my 90. I have however ead so many abusive comments from forum users who say that the etiquette is not to jump straight on with questions. hi anyway

Hi there Folks. My name's Derek and I live in Rutherglen, just outside Glasgow. I have a 2006 Freelander TD4 S. I have watched the site for a few years but never posted cos I don't really have much to contribute I'm afraid. I am not in anyway technical or mechanically minded. ie. I resisted getting a mobile until last year. I have had the Freelander since 2008 and it has covered just over 40k. I'm ashamed to say I have never serviced it or anything like that. It has just been my trusty brief. Never broke down, always started, always felt tough as old boots. The poor thing is now crying out for some love and attention and in the last 6 months everything seems to very poorly. Like the poster above I have noticed that the etiquette is not to jump in with questions but I'm gonna have to do it with at least one as I don't want to hurt her anymore if I can avoid it. I hope some of you will take pity on a fat lad like me and help me out. Even just a little to ensure I am not slowly/quickly killing the best car I ever had. Take care.
