This isn't mine, sold mine beginning of year, this I found on Google. Where is the bottom anchor point on the later models then? Thought they would all be the same.

I too used stainless fixings to bolt the floor panels down (going into rivnut fixings) never had any corrosion on these parts for the 10 years I had it. Panels were powder coated and covered in grease, so that would have protected it a bit.

Yeah it definitely would have protected them, what year was yours? when taking mine off it was just like the day I left them, that was 2017 although the grease was more thick and dirt around the washer but that’s cool as it was like new after a wipe down

Mine was a 1988, bought it in 2006, and did a full rebuild around 2011/12. I used zinc plated bolts throughout (had a good supply at work which I 'borrowed' lol). Only used the stainless fixings on the dash I made and floor panels
 
I have just ordered them bolts, also some nylon washers to go under the washers, I’ve got a kit but none were exactly the right size, was thinking of putting a small bit of shrink wrap on the bolt where it goes through the aluminium ( so it does not touch it directly)before the bracket do you think that will suffice? I fitted floor pan screws from yrm a few years ago they are A4 stainless, after what you said last week just fitted nylon washers under the stainless washers but can’t see any corrosion under them yet is that because I used a tonne of grease do you think?

Grease is fine, galvanised is better, plastic is going OTT.
 
If struggling to find isolation washers and you looking for a thin material to make your own from, I find milk containers can be useful. Usually throwing one away every couple of days too! Easy to cut with scissors, flexible, usually to hand, and available in different sizes
 
One more thing to be careful of with stainless bolts is galling. If done up tight stainless nuts can virtually lock on to the bolt, especially if using a nut runner etc.

Our company did a stainless job and it was assembled using m10s (or most, can't remember which). The guys had to take it appart and ended up having to cut a few off!

It's worth a quick Google, just so you are aware of it.

Thanks yeah I understand it’s a little more unpredictable than normal bolts but only the a2 stainless I’ve used, all the a4 stuff the thread of the bolt has been immaculate, but on the a2 it just doesn’t look that nice if you know what I mean, Dont think a4 would eat away at the aluminium so bad either ( something I read online) as it far more resistant in some way or another
 
Right guys to wrap this thread up, I ended up getting A4-80 stainless bolts in the end, (thanks for the heads up mikdish) as the others weren’t really load rated, just a reminder to defender owners there is a lovely mud trap behind where them bolts go, ( put your hand up there and you are bound to find some dirt) I have a long nose airline gun so took some time to remove all the debris, and also put a small bit of shrink wrap where the bolt might touch the aluminium
