]Hi guys,

Got this hose off the rear side of the engine. It's split quite bad and leaked the coolant right out of the system.

Can anyone tell me if this is a 'stealer' part only or whether I can buy it in car spares shop?

I have attached pictures below.

Cheers.

I normally use this site to find part numbers then type into britcar or island 4x4 site, it will link to a page with a blue hyperlink then go to parts catalogue at the bottom of the page

Plus £5.00 postage. You may like to rethink the part number does not compute at Island or Rimmers. JHB000181 maybe better. :D:D

As a matter of interest which coolant make would you put in and what mix?

Always a 50:50 mix....I use what ever is cheap at the time, but make sure it has the anti-corrosion inhibitors in it and mine was original with blue coolant....some have pink. Stick with whatever colour your has currently to prevent mixing as mixing different colours can strip out the additives in it to protect the engine.

I use the cheapest available as at some point it is going to have to be drained again to fix the next coolant problem!! :D:D

Cheers Saint. That's a good shout ("fixing the next coolant problem!")

As mine's all drained out with the split hose, I can't tell what colour it was. Although there are signs of pink dried coolant around some of the hoses, so I'm guessing it would have been pink...:D:

So do you know of any of the cheapest pink brands? Gonna need 5 litres I reckon.....

Thanks in advance...

Whatever is on sale or the cheapest on the shelf at the local autofactors at the time....even Halfrauds if I need to....aslong as it is changed as per the schedule, make is immaterial really!

Cheers for that. Although an independent told me that if I don't use the right one, then the coolant sensor will always give the "check coolant level" warning.

Have you ever experienced this?

Coolant sensor isnt that clever.....it will detect the wrong ratio if it is really out of whack as it measures the specific gravity of the mix...but as for brand, it cares not!

Hmmm...independent trying to shift his 'more expensive' brand by the sound of things😡

Right then, will get the cheapest option, put everything back together and report back in a week or so. (Earlier if I blow another hose!! Sheesh!)
