Started taking out my starter motor yesterday for repair and cannot locate the second bolt securing it in place.

I can’t align the image from Rave nor a suppliers image to the actual bolt position.

I’ve so far removed the easy to spot bolt on bottom flange, removed nut holding the wiring in place, and removed the clip on cable.

Is the bolt at end of screwdriver in attached image (there wasn’t one here when I started).

Few images attached of current situation and supporting photos.

Any help much appreciated.

Best,

Anthony

Thanks N, found it.

Second bolt is out of view from all angles, it’s tucked under the cables just to right of main electric cable going toward elec connections starter - see photo taken looking square on end view of starter housing (from battery side). Just put a 13mm socket onto narrow extension, feel for it, put on wrench and opens with swift pull.

Leave socket and extension on bolt in situ to avoid searching for it after.

Next to replace parts and fit all back again.

It’s a tight fit, the unit as described very well in previous other post on this comes out back end first (literally grab from end furthest from bolts and maneuver gentlish out! That’s why they put flexible hoses in there!).

Cheers Gents,

A
