Hello,

Been trying to learn some more about the workings of my lovely P38, and decided to look at the compressor beneath the cowling.
My question is this; it doesn't seem to stop? It's been a few days since I drove it, is it just taking advantage of the engine being on to pump up the reservoir? It just seems to be getting rather hot from the constant use (should note that this is having officially reached the height, and it stays there for days after the engine's off)
Anyway, I'm not worried or anything since if it had been doing that for all the time I drove her last time, and it were a problem, I think it would have melted.. but I would be interested to know how the system works? PS. I've never had any EAS problems.

If it stays up ok for days ,the bags are good ,but if the comp is running non-stop it is possibly a leak between the comp and the air tank or maybe at the tank itself.Soapy water time!;)

Shouldn't it stay up all the time? I had an intermittent deflation o/s rear would deflate once a week maybe more, needed new air springs. Any probs you don't get sorted will knacker the compressor.

Read the "How to" section at the top of the page to check compressor for output/pumping leaks. Don't know why i bloody bother, sometimes it feels as though you're ****ing against the wind.

The compressor max temperature is 120C. As Wammers said read the "how to" sounds like your comressor is weak.
