Please be gentle with me 🤣
just bought a 1964 series 2a .
it's got 1980 weller wheels 🤢 and nearly new 205/80R16 tyres .
looking at keeping the tyres and putting them on a standard defender steel rim .
is there a defender steel rim thats 16x6 ? or are they 16x6.5 ?
thanks in advance.

Be careful with your wheel nuts/studs. Landies pre 1970 (not fully sure to the year) have smaller wheel studs and nuts. They are designed to share some weight through the round hole in the centre of the wheel. The studs are not designed to take the full weight of the vehicle and are not safe with later / aftermarket wheels. I have seen the consequences of this a couple of times...... Seeing as different parts get fitted and modified over time the easiest way to know what you have is the size. If your wheel nuts are 27mm then you have the "later" type Series 3 16mm studs. These are same thread as Rand Rover Classic / Disco 1 and will safely work with any wheel fitted.
If you have the smaller nuts (circa 24mm) I would advise not to use non original wheels.

What do the weller wheels look like? If you fancy selling them, shoot me a PM.

The only 6" wide rim is the Roystyle one found on some County models and Range Rovers.
