I've got standard alloys on my disco, is it safe enough to use the nuts from them on these new wheels I bought for? Or is it worth investing in a proper set of nuts for them? If so, which ones are they?!
I haven't stuck these on yet, was going to use them for off roading as they look like they'll be 'orrible on the road.

Alloy wheel nuts have a shoulder that supports the wheel, steel wheels nets only have a chamfer that doesn't support and could indeed crush the alloys .. your choice .. :)

Steel nuts on left Alloy nuts on right. Different animals completely

I must admit I assumed that may be the case - the ones holding my spare on really don't look right at all!

they'll be alright for a spare, but you might get a bit of movement-especially off road. Not safe for the hubs tho.
