Took Freezie to the garage for some new brakes. Mechanic manages to misplace 3 wheel nuts off the front two wheels along with the locking nuts.... which I only notice due to a weird sound coming from the front wheels when breaking. Bastardo then goes out of business and I'm therefore unable to throttle him..

Anyway, looking for a replacement and found this cheap set on ebay but how on earth do I know if the are the correct size?

yes they are fine. As long as you realise that they are one locking nut per wheel. You will still need to replace the other missing nuts too ;)
 
There are loads of Freelander breakers on ebay, allways worth chucking them a query if you're unsure.

I've just got a replacement locking wheel nut cover from one.
 
Depends on whether your wheels are steel or alloy. If the wheels are steel, you could possibly get away with alloy nuts.

The other way round though, and, if after repeatedly removing the wheels, steel nuts could stretch the alloy holes in the wheel. As a rule of thumb, steel for steel, alloy for alloy :)

OK so the next stupid question from me is, how do I know if my wheels are steel or alloy? :eek:
