i've been reading Clanforbes camper conversion thread with interest and this photo got me thinking. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/finally-making-start-my-camper-conversion-187500.html

if i reduced the size of the wheel arch box like this i could put front facing seats (for the kids) on each wheel arch which would have leg room. this would leave a gap down the middle for them to get in and out of them, and this would still leave me room in the back for my dogs and junk. Happy days.

PROBLEM....what happens on the drivers side, the petrol tank is in the way. Help anyone...ideas welcome.

cheers.

The tank move doesn't look that easy judging by the other threads. perhaps this idea is a no go.

I've just been under Dora (the 90 before you all ask.!!) and it looks like i might just about be able to leave the tank where it is as long as i can move the filler pipe. Maybe i could fill from behind the rear wheel the just have a longer filling pipe to the existing position in the tank???

Lotta trouble! Get plica foldaways. Couple of brackets fabricated out of ,50x50 box section. That way they meet virtually in the centre.

They fold up like exmoor but far cheaper. In the process now. Waiting on brackets.

How do they get in?? have you thought about how you'd get em out in the event of a bad smash, fire flood etc. We all hope that it won't ever happen but then so did Gresham. Has ya insurance company seen that setup??

it has bulkhead removed and no center seat, so they get in and out of passenger door, the side windows are sliding but as an extra have emergency glass hammer and as for bench seats inward facing with lap belts these are surely a lot safer....i am going to move the outer seats closer to the sides and slide center seat to one side creating a gap of about 8 - 10 inches which will allow them to access rear seats from the back door aswell

Still no leg room though?

These seats were fitted further back and they had to much leg room, as they are now even my wife has sat in the back with no complaints so for a woman not to complain its a miracle, at the end of a day we are seating 4 or five people in a 90 if it's leg room you need then buy a 110 or a disco.

I Int having a go. I was just asking if you'd thought it thru. SO many people mod their vehicles with no thoughts at all about what they'd do in an emergency.

There's a fire safety campaign on at the mo that uses an airline safety talk to highlight the fact that we wouldn't feel safe if they didn't tell you where the exits were. But so few people have talked about how to get out of their own homes if theres a fire..

Both seats set well back and central. Bout the same as normal car. Quite comfy seats too.

This was initial fitting with brackets I made. But that left seats bout 3 inches over arch so with boxsection will stop that. Putting new covers on as they are vile. They have headrests which will be sprayed to match. Got black chequer kit to line the rear too.

I understand your point and it's good to have other peoples views and opinions heard I hope that with what I have achieved it is as safe as I can get it. I do also have a fire extinguisher on bulkhead. If I could afford would fit full external cage aswell ...

I'm new to this...but..why the exhaust? Can't it be kept on the same side,,,away from the exhaust ?
