Afternoon All,

Just a quick question regarding the wheel alignment on the Range Rover P38.

The chap at the workshop said everything has seized as it hasn't been touched for a while. He sprayed some WD40 a few days ago and I just wanted to re-apply some more before I take it back in, in a few more days.

Trouble is, I cannot see where he has sprayed it, does anybody have an image or diagram I can work off for the front axle? I've run a search but can only find a diagram for the L322 model.

Thanks in advance,

Car in question is a late 4.6 if that makes any difference.

I'll pop over and get some but the WD-40 can does say "Penetrates... Loosens rusted, frozen or stuck metal fastenings, holds firmly to all moving parts"

It can say what it likes - it's still not penetrating fluid. :)

Anywhere you see a thread on the linkrod connecting the two front wheels, give it a good spray.

If they have been there some time and were not pre greased before fitting with something like Copraslip. They are sometimes almost impossible to move without removing the track rod. Lets hope you are lucky. Look behind the O/S front wheel for the track rod adjusters and at steering box drop arm for drag link adjusters. Plus gas is what you need not WD40 in a blue can. WD40 in a silver can is penetrating fluid.

WD-40, abbreviated from the phrase "Water Displacement, 40th formula,"it was originally designed to repel water and prevent corrosion, and later was found to have numerous household uses.
oh & best of luck with your alignment,i personally would buy a new drag link if its that bad;)

Think it maybe the track rod he is having trouble with. :):)

Has been this price for a few days now.

Thanks for all the replies, a bit busy for the next few days so won't be able to do anything on the car.

I'll keep you guys posted...
