I am about to order a new chassis but need to know What's the difference between a series 2 and a series 3 bellhousing so I can get the correct crossmember

the series 2 chassis has an extra web at cross member which fouls series 3 clutch location , I would get series 3 one unless your rivet counting .Allows you to fit a series 3 gearbox in the future without cutting the web out.

It is also possible to fit a series 3 box with a 2a bellhousing. Either way get the one without the web and leave options open.

the cross shaft is also different. Noticed that when I had to change the clutch on the Series 2 (early) .
