The same quality of oil sold by Halfrauds can be got for around £12.00 or less at factors. Anybody that buys a ANYTHING from Halfrauds is being ripped off in a big way. Son in law was quoted £108.00 for a battery for his car. I got him a Varta from my supplier £54.00. If you buy stuff from Halfrauds at their prices you need your bumps feeling. They are a complete and utter ripoff.

Ironically I got a very good battery from a branch of Kwik Fit in Richmond, with a 3 yr warranty.
Best price, even lower than GSF and CAF (auto factors), even with discount !
However I had to shop around, and got a crappy phone response from Staines branch !

Hope that helps someone that needs a battery !

Lesson here then is always buy your stuff in the week, ready for Sunday. Must admit their tools look ok, how they would stand up to daily use is another matter. Halfrauds capless 5w side lamp bulbs £4.28 a pair. Factors 30p each. Halfrauds yellow 21w flasher bulbs £5.98 per pair. Factor 70p each. Bulbs in bulk boxes from factors a lot less, sides maybe 20p each flashers 40p each. Go figure.:):):)

Its not that bad if you get a halfrauds trade card, makes things alot cheaper and any1 can get it if they bend the truth a little, i didnt have to take any ID just my buisness card... any way as much as i hate halfrauds some times when ur desprate and it 5.45 pm and ur startin to panic.... there are open.:D:D

How much do you get off Mike?

They only rip 5 finger nails at the till instead of all 10:eek:

I shall not be applying for a Halfrauds trade card based on that information. I would much rather get 30% off £2.99 at the factors than 30% off £5.99 at Halfrauds. Sorry but it's a no brainer.;););)

Then you would have passed Cordwallis on the way to Staines Google Maps

You could have got the same battery (again) they use for the Range Rover (just no expensive sticker on it) for 1/2 the price

i use morris and have always used this brand, cannot fault it,but do change my oil every 3500 miles i have a 2.5 dse

thanks guys for all t replys, i have been using 10 w 40 as per owners manual but find she use s a couple of litres between changes, not that thats a prob i m well used of engines using a drop,

What mileage/time between changes? My 210km engine doesn`t use anything like that much.(I run on semi-synth). If there`s no oil slick on your driveway you`re burning it somewhere, and could do with investigating. If rings or valve stems you may decide to live with it, but if leaking around turbo it could be a warning worth taking!

When I had an Omega years ago it used fully synthetic 5w30 as recommended in the handbook. When I changed the oil in the Rangie I asked Partco what they recommended and they told me to use 10w40 semi (surprised as its the same engine). So used Unipart 10w40 semi, can't remember the price but do remember that I thought it was quite reasonable at the time. Do remember that the Omega used a couple of litres between oil changes and local garage said nothing to worry about but the Rangie uses nothing (so far)
